Pacific Iron & Metal is the Pacific Northwest's premiere, environmentally conscious, recycler of nonferrous metals. We recycle copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, exotic metals and electronic scrap.We also recycle precious metals including gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

Pacific Iron & Metal, the first of the Glant Pacific Companies, was founded in Seattle, in 1917 by Jules Glant. From the beginning, he emphasized the importance of pride and personal and professional integrity in his employees and his companies. Jules Glant was a pioneer in the world of recycling. He recognized great value in the recycling of increasingly scarce resources like metals to customers and the environment. In addition to metal, Pacific Iron also dealt in waste paper, rubber, and rags.Today, Pacific Iron & Metal operates one of the largest non-ferrous scrap processing plants in the Pacific Northwest and is the only non-ferrous scrap processor in the state of Washington with an approved and operational water treatment system (see our environmental related page).For over three generations, we have anticipated change -- sometimes simple and occasionally dramatic -- but always with great care and consideration for people and the future. The materials we handled in the past have paved the way for the development of other Glant Pacific Divisions -- Pacific Fabrics and Crafts and Pacific Iron's Building Materials. Environment

Recycling is good for the environment only if the recycling process is completed in an environmentally sound manner. At Pacific Iron & Metal, protecting our environment is always our top priority when we recycle your scrap.

Federal and State laws can make a client liable for environmental damages even after scrap is sold to a recycler. That's why it is so important to be sure your recycler is compliant with all State and Federal regulations and laws.

We have in place, best management practices, which ensure that we do everything possible to protect you from down-stream environmental liability. These practices have been quite successful and to date, Pacific Iron & Metal has never been a federal Superfund site. (Superfund sites are polluted locations requiring a long-term response to clean-up hazardous material contaminations.)

For over 10 CONSECUTIVE years, Pacific Iron & Metal has earned the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks Industrial Waste Program gold or silver award for protecting our environment.

We purchase aluminum sheet, aluminum cast, aluminum cans, segregated aluminum alloys, aluminum wheels, brass, copper, insulated copper and aluminum wire, auto radiators, stainless steel, carbide, titanium, exotic metals, iron/steel (commercial only), zinc, lead, batteries, electronic scrap, computer circuit boards and processors, and all precious metals.

We constantly monitor all materials-related news, commodity and financial markets to provide our customers with the most current pricing on every metal traded. We weigh all material on certified scales and the data is entered into our computerized data base and each weight is recorded on a scale ticket for payment. These methods ensure accurate and efficient payment and the best prices available.

Our outside buyers have between 38 and 40 years experience in metals purchasing and will gladly visit your facility to evaluate your needs.
