About Yard

We provide computer and electronic recycling for the public, federal/state agencies, public, private and parochial schools and private business. We are a family owned and operated business for the last decade. We are Albuquerque’s Premier computer and electronic recycler. Data destruction is our foremost priority. Our on site state of the art hard drive shredder, the HSM 230, provides thorough hard drive platter destruction; leaving absolutely no possibility of platter data recovery, as the platter is shredded into a salt like substance. We are the only electronic recycler in the state with this technology.

New Mexico Computer Recyclers emphasize community outreach by providing, when possible, computer technologies to public, private and parochial schools throughout the state. We also supply state organizations, such as CYFD, with computer technology. Additionally, New Mexico Computer Recyclers works in partnership with 501 c 3 non-profit organizations such as eRead Educational Services, Animal Humane, YMCA, Juvenile Justice Center, and Albuquerque Rescue Mission to name a few.New Mexico Computer Recyclers does not sell computer equipment to third world countries. We do not sell CRT monitors to Mexico or Africa. As a matter of record, we do not support this type of recycling. We only associate with those organizations that follow strict EPA and State of NM guidelines and procedures when recycling E-Waste material.

Recycling Process

Our E-Waste recycling policies and procedures are some of the best in the southwest. We only work with those organizations that adhere to the strictest EPA guidelines and procedures when recycling unusable E-Waste material.

  • Re-usable / working computer equipment is separated for future refurbishing and or donation. Equipment that is selected as “non-usable” is marked for dismantling and recycling.
  • Equipment that is selected for recycling is completely dismantled. All internal components such as motherboards and power supply units as well as the internal devices are removed from the cases. At no time do we discard unwanted equipment in trash receptacles or the landfill.

Data Destruction

  • We want you to feel secure in knowing that all data provided to us – whether hard drive, cd/dvd, usb drive, or mobile device – will be completely destroyed. We utilize the best hard drive and data shredder on the market.
  • Others will tell you that punching a hole in the hard drive will suffice for complete data destruction, but with that method, it is very easy to obtain information from the drive. NMCR's hard drive shredder is the best on the market, and the only machine that guarantees complete data destruction.

Making a Difference

The mission of this partnership is to provide the residents and businesses of Bernalillo County a local computer recycling facility that properly recycles computer electronics and is EPA compliant. Additionally, we provide free donated computer equipment to public, private and parochial schools as well as to non-profit organizations throughout the metropolitan area. Our refurbished computers go to the Albuquerque Rescue Mission, CYFD, Joy Junction, and others in need.
