Mid-Nebraska Disposal is a family owned and operated business, with headquarters in Grand Island, Nebraska. Mid-Nebraska Disposal was already formed in the early 1970s when Arlo Woodward and his sons, Les and Marv, bought the businesses in 1976. Les and his wife, Teresa, ran the business themselves until the early 1990s, when Les' two sons, Scott and Chris, came aboard to give them a hand in the day-to-day operations.

The success of Mid-Nebraska Disposal can be attributed to many things, but the two most important are a dedication to customer service and innovation. Our commitment to customer service has resulted in a growing business with strong customer loyalty; but we've never lost sight of the fact that great customer service can't be accomplished without our well-trained employees. Our team members are continually trained on using safe driving skills, on-the-job safety and customer service.

When it comes to being innovators, our history tells the story. We were the first company of our kind to offer many products and services before they were common. Just a few of these innovations include offering toters and curbside recycling to our residential customers and cardboard and office paper recycling to our business customers. Now we have our newest convenience of online sign-up and bill paying.

Recycling

We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers, serving as good stewards of the planet, and protecting our future by extending the life of landfills. Mid-Nebraska Disposal illustrates that commitment by being the first locally owned trash hauler to offer curbside recycling.This service provides a once-a-week pickup of recyclables. The items collected through this program are prepared for reuse in new products and packaging, which reduces the amount of waste entering our landfills, saves resources and helps reduce the cost of many products.To help ensure the program's continued success, we ask that you not put your recycling bin out for pickup until it is completely full, and that you take just a few moments to make sure your recyclable items are properly prepared:

Cardboard and Office Paper Recycling

We were the first to offer loose cardboard and office paper recycling in Grand Island. We pick up loose cardboard six times a week and office paper once per week.We also pick up baled cardboard from large generators of cardboard. Top prices are paid for baled cardboard.

Yard Waste
Yard waste is collected once per week from April through November. Yard waste services are $48 per season for a single pickup each week in Grand Island. We also charge $1.50 per leaf bag with once per week pickup. A green yard waste Toter is included in the service price, and you have the option of adding a second green Toter to the service for an additional $27 per season.

Industrial & Construction

Industrial customers and construction projects require specialized, high-volume service. We offer a complete solution for your waste hauling needs no matter what your volume. We have construction containers with capacities of 12 to 40 yards, as well as compactors for companies that generate large volumes of solid waste.
