We are a small, local business, so you will never have to wade through a list of phone support options or wait on hold for an unknown individual to feed you a list of canned responses. Our goal is to apply our tested knowledge and experience in assessing and fixing your problems, making sure your computer is inline with your needs.We pride ourselves in getting to know each of our customers so that we can provide personal attention and solutions so that your PC and internet experiences will be a good tool instead of a 'drag'.We offer on site services, where you can watch and learn every step of the way. Or you can choose to have your PC picked up and serviced in our office! We will bring it back to your home or business when finished, and re-connect all the cables for you!
Computers, like all things have parts that will wear out over time, as well as problems with spyware and other software issues that get in the way of you getting your work done. Our goal is to quickly repair any issues that you may have with minimal 'down' time. We will come on site if you would like, or we also offer pickup/drop off service and will diagnose your computer and notify you of the problem. We can order replacement parts if needed, and can do the install and configuration for you. Typical repair times for hardware issues are 1-2 days if we can find a replacement part locally, or 5-7 days if we need to have a part shipped in.
For software troubleshooting, most problems can be fixed within 1-2 hours, and before continuing with any additional work we will notify you of the problem, and the solution that we suggest. We have over 15 years experience working in the Microsoft Windows environment from home computers to large networked environments.
If you need any help deciding on what type of computer or networking devices to purchase we are always available to help you find the right solution. After talking with you about what you would like to achieve with the new equipment, we can lay out a plan and even do all the ordering for you. We can always install and configure the equipment if you would like to get an hassle free experience.
We are able to handle large or small deliveries of recyclable material and can also pickup as needed or a scheduled monthly pickup of equipment. We are willing to work with your IT department to make sure all equipment is documented and correctly handled for inventory purposes. Mid-Iowa Computers can provide a certificate of destruction for asset management satisfaction and will work with each customer to securely recycle their equipment.
Where does the equipment go?
Equipment that enters our recycling process first has any hard drives removed from desktop or laptop units. The drives are tested and wiped if operational. All non-operational drives and equipment are physically destroyed. Customers always have the option of guaranteed physical destruction. After the drives are removed, the components may be analyzed for functionality. For equipment that is deemed defective, Mid-Iowa Computers separates the parts into separate waste streams for our raw materials processor. Our processor then smelts down the circuit boards for metals such as copper, lead, platinum, gold, and silver. These recycled metals are then used to create new electronic equipment such as tv's, laptops, and new computers.
