Jarvis Metals Recycling Inc. is the largest scrap metals and paper recycler in West Texas. For public safety, Jarvis Metals Recycling has a zero-tolerance policy for all types of scrap contaminated by radioactivity. Therefore, we will not accept any scrap that has been contaminated by radioactive elements. To ensure this policy is maintained, a sophisticated proximity radiation detection system scans each scrap load as it enters our facility for processing. In addition, scrap loads that contain medical equipment, measuring gauges from manufacturing facilities, or oil-drilling operations are subjected to additional scrutiny by use of a hand-held detector. Any load that reports a radiation level above normal background levels is rejected in whole from being accepted.
