Heartland Disposal is an innovative family owned waste disposal company providing solid waste solutions and services to the central Nebraska area. Our customers consist of several business types including residential, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, government, and construction.

Based in Grand Island, Nebraska we are locally owned and operated. Heartland Disposal is owned by Tom Ummel Sr. and his son, Tommy Ummel Jr. Tom Ummel Sr. has been involved in multiple roles in the solid waste disposal industry in the central Nebraska area for the greater part of the last forty years. While Tommy Ummel Jr after receiving his bachelors degree from the University of Lincoln also decided to make a career in the waste industry. Tommy Ummel Jr has experience managing several large solid waste and hazardous waste disposal companies. After working for some national solid waste companies, Tommy Ummel Jr. and his father Tom decided to open Heartland Disposal and promised to provide quality service at an affordable price to the customer.

Together we have over many years of combined experience in the waste service industry. We offer expertise in all aspects of waste collection including recycling, special waste handling and waste minimization programs. We pride ourselves on superior services and customized waste hauling solutions. We have a team of excellent people behind us to insure you receive the best possible service available. Residential Service

Heartland Disposal offers rural residential household waste pickup to residents outside of town.This is a once per month pickup in most areas and provides you with a 2 cubic yard dumpster.Have a remodeling, building project or doing some major clean up. Roll-Off container can help you out.
Available from 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 40 cubic yard.

• Trash - Standard Residential Trash Pick-up.
• Yard Waste - Yard waste pick-up with Service available April through November. Yard waste cannot be put in trash.
• Recycling - HD Recycle Rewards curb-side recycling with cart, that takes more items and rewards you.
