By-Pass Auto-Truck-Equipment Recyclers is the largest government regulated, environmentally conscious vehicle and scrap metal recycling facility on the Sunshine Coast. We are a gold member of the Automotive Recyclers Environmental Association (AREA) and we are the drop-off depot on the Sunshine Coast for BC Scrap-It and the Kidney Car Program.
Since our inception in January of 1994 we have grown from a small used auto parts retailer to our current position as a major recycling depot that facilitates the transport and environmentally conscious handling and disposal of end of life vehicles (ELVs) and all types of scrap and non-ferrous metals.
We offer free drop-off of loose scrap metal and we purchase non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass, aluminum, etc. We tow and dispose of derelict and ELVs free of charge and we purchase vehicles, trucks, machinery and equipment for parts and scrap recycling.

After-Hours Drop
During office hours, please come into the office to be directed to the appropriate drop off area.
After hours, please load the available truck or bin adjacent to the main building. This site is monitored for after-hours drops, so we would expect our customers to use due diligence and not dispose of fridges, freezers, dishwasher, paints and fluids at our scrap metal site. Washers, dryers and stoves which are not Freon containing appliances are fine. Fridges, freezers and dishwasher must be recycled at the SCRD Landfill in Sechelt or at Gibson's Recycling at this time.
Remember karma works—we recycle responsibly as do our valued customers. If you need someone to come get your metal we can arrange for pickup of larger amounts and we can supply you with bins, large and small, for you to fill at your leisure for pickup at a later date.
