SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The data science team at Tenaris has rolled out a new technology to enhance industrial processes. The innovative solution was launched by team based at the Dalmine, Italy facility of the company during the lockdown period.
According to the company, the new technology aims to improve the industrial performance by boosting the deployment speed of applications, reducing errors in operational processes and standardizing the data science tools. The technology makes use of data science and machine learning techniques to enhance safety, quality and efficiency of all industrial processes.
The initial step towards development of this new platform was made in 2018. The company is one among many few steel firms that has an in-house industrial innovation department. The team comprises of 40 employees across its facilities located in Italy, Argentina, Mexico and Netherlands.
Vincenzo Manzoni, Data Science Director, Tenaris noted that the new solution equips the company to answer to operational needs in less time and with more precision. The highly reliable system can be deployed 100% remotely. He thanked the company’s highly skilled team for their hard work and commitment in developing a benchmark solution that promises zero downtime.
