The company was formed in 2010 through the merger of two highly respected South Australian surveying firms – Mosel Browne Surveyors and Steed and Pohl – both of which had operated around the state for decades.Mosel Browne Surveyors had been providing surveying and related land services since the early 1950s, when Lawrie Mosel opened his practice and was later joined by Bill Browne. Michael Liebelt came to the firm in Adelaide in the late 1980s and moved to Kadina in 1991 to manage the office there. Mosel Browne continued to build its reputation in the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and upper Spencer Gulf areas. The practice built an enviable reputation for surveying, subdivision planning and project management, with a particular emphasis on rural and regional projects.Steed and Pohl was first established as RN Steed & Associates, in 1970, by Bob Steed. Michael Pohl took ownership of the firm in 1981 and was joined by Mark Goedecke in 1989. Under Michael and Mark, Steed and Pohl became a significant player in land surveying and land development in South Australia. For many years they operated from offices in Adelaide and Murray Bridge, serving the metropolitan area and a large regional area extending from the Riverland through the Mid Murray and Murraylands to the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.Mosel Steed combined – and then built on – the broad and diverse strengths of both of its parent companies.The result is a highly skilled, innovative and efficient team of surveyors, project managers and land development specialists with a wealth of experience and significant resources.
