About Company

We don't take ourselves too seriously.
But we DO do seriously good work.

The simple fact that we are celebrating 135 years of business should provide a good indication of our longevity and a modicum of confidence if you're considering conducting business with us.

Established in 1882, Miller's Jewelry is a cornerstone of Downtown Bozeman. Our retail showroom and jewelry laboratory are located on the corner of Tracy & Main Street. There, you will find an extensive selection of loose gemstones, finished jewelry, and gifts of all kind. We build, repair, & appraise fine jewelry, in addition to selling it. We also boast a friendly and helpful staff that will assist you with your jewelry and watch needs. Miller's is a full-service operation with master goldsmiths and graduate gemologists on staff. We are very proud to be a family-owned and operated store that is firmly entrenched within the community in which we live.

With a tradition of excellence, we work hard to bring the best our industry can offer to Bozeman. Our ethical business practices, fair prices, extensive knowledge, sense of humor, and outstanding service have won us customers for generations. Miller's Jewelry has sustained a wonderful reputation among the Bozeman community and beyond. Especially now, with the addition of our online store, we are able to service clients all over the United States, and many people continue to come back to us despite physical distance. Our success and growth could not have occurred without the tremendous support of our many clients. We are fortunate to make a living doing something that we truly enjoy, and we realize that family business like ours are now few and far between. It is our sincere honor to be your trusted hometown jeweler.

Your life is full of beautiful and inspiring moments -- meaningful occasions, such as births & major birthdays, marriage & important anniversaries, graduations, promotions, and innumerable successes. These are your moments, some of the most precious of your time on this planet. They deserve to be cherished. Treasured. We are inspired by those moments. And we want to help commemorate them.

History

1940

Pease Jewelry was owned at this time by Claude Steffans, grandson of founder Henry A. Pease. Henry Pease had moved to Montana in 1864, and to Bozeman in 1882.

In 1945, Claude Steffans sold the business to Harry Miller.

1947

Harry Miller owned the business at this time. Note the wall cabinets, which are still with the business and have a great history, being shipped from the East Coast via barge up the Missouri River in the late 1800's.

In 1950, Harold Mueller went to work for Mr. Miller. Two years later, Harold Mueller became a co-owner in the business.

1952

The Mueller family now owned Miller's Jewelry, and they ran the business until 1986.

1982

This photo was the 100th anniversary celebration of the business. The Mueller family owned the business for over 30 years, until it was sold to the current owners, Mark and Kay Johnson, in 1986.
