Excelcon Steel is a privately owned company founded in Ottawa by Bintoro Lo in 1993.

Bintoro Lo, President of Excelcon, possesses a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and extensive experience in the steel fabrication & erection industry. Prior to founding Excelcon, he was the Vice-President of a large steel company in Ottawa. In this capacity, he managed many different facets of steel fabrication and erection including design, detailing and project management.

Excelcon has established itself as one of the leading steel fabricators and erectors in Ottawa with controlled growth throughout Ontario and future developments in Eastern Canada.

Our extensive experience and knowledge in industrial, commercial, institutional, government and residential constructions has enabled us to anticipate the most complex areas of steel construction projects. We provide innovative solutions to overcome these complexities and other construction related problems to complete projects on schedule and on budget.

With more than 15 years of service, Excelcon has gained a commendable reputation in delivering the highest values in excellent products and reliable services. This reputation has won us the opportunities to bid on prestigious “Invited Tender only” projects.

We were nominated as Fabricator Member of the Year 2004 for Ontario Region at the Steel Plus Network Convention in Quebec in 2005.

Our Nokia Building Project (currently named Dell Center – Kanata, Ontario) has been awarded Project of the Year 2001 at the Steel Plus Network Convention in Bermuda in 2002.

Our John McCrae Secondary School Project was nominated as Quarterly Project of the Year 1998 by Steel Plus Network.

Excelcon Steel is well connected to the steel industry in Canada to draw on specialized skills and resources when required. We are a member of Steel Plus Network LLC (SPN LLC), Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB), Ottawa Construction Association (OCA), Canadian Construction Association (CCA) and Council of Ontario Construction Associations (COCA). We are certified under W47.1 Standard Division 2.1 by the Canadian Welding Bureau. Excelcon’s certifications meet and exceed industry standards.
