Family Owned and Run

It all started with William and Sheila Dow selling vegetables from their farm near Stirling.

Business boomed and the couple were soon excavating ground waste. They set up a small haulage business.

The company grew and diversified.

Sheila Dow took the business on with her children,and as more and more customers beat a path to their door.

As the years went on, Sheila’s children (Marshall and Sheila) focussed the company more and more on recycling and waste management.

Cumbernauld Recycling Centre

By 2005 we were getting too big for the small yard we were in. So we moved to the outskirts of Cumbernauld and set up a recycling facility.

The rest is history, as they say.

We now employ over 60 people, a third of whom live in Cumbernauld.

Some employees have worked for Dow for 20 years while our longest serving member of staff has been employed by the family for almost 50 years.
