A mining customer presented us with a scenario where a very large size HV cable needed to be suspended for a 1 km vertical straight drop, with support only at the top, but without any cautionary support along the run. With our Engineering Department, we devised a custom design cable that could sustain a straight 1 km drop, and the challenge of holding the weight of the cable from a single suspension point. Not only did we design a special cable, but also the support mechanism holding the suspe.
