Sealed containers such as gas tanks and fire extinguishers must present an opening to ensure cleanliness. Materials with gas, oil, or refrigerants will not be accepted. Public Safety

For public safety, Bell Processing has a zero-tolerance policy for contaminated material; therefore, we do not accept any scrap contaminated by radioactive elements. To ensure this policy is maintained, a sophisticated proximity radiation detection system scans each scrap load as it enters our facility for processing. In addition, scrap loads containing medical equipment, measuring gauges from manufacturing facilities, or oil-drilling operations are subjected to additional scrutiny by use of a hand-held detector. Any load reporting a radiation level above normal background levels is rejected in whole from being accepted.
