Certificates of destruction are issued at the completion of every service.

History

Founded on 2000, Cinco Electronics Recycling (CER) was created to provide a wide range of recycling services for corporate and individual customers in the Austin, Texas area. The name Cinco is a homage to the celebration of Cinco de Mayo, spanish for 'fifth of May', when the company had its first transaction.CER is dedicated to buying new, or used computer and electronic equipment and disposing of it in a safe, environmentally responsible way. We take equipment which has reached the end of its service life and insure that it is reused, or recycled.

Over the years, in order to extend our services nationally, facilities were added to Ontario, California and Columbus, Ohio. Today CER has over 150,000 square feet of combined warehouse space, offering shredding and bailing services in all locations.CER has emphasized this geographic business strategy to:

  • Shorten the supply chain.
  • Enhance Reverse Logistics return opportunities.
  • Reduce shipping costs.
  • Allow local access and coordination for many downstream recyclers.

Featuring an aggressive Environmental Management System (EMS) in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), we set high standards for our downstream vendors and maintain an audit system to insure that they are operating to our standards as well as state and federal guidelines.
We assure secure handling and destruction of sensitive equipment such as hard drives, cell phones, and removable media; managing a program to your company’s specification, or tailoring one to your needs.

CER continues to expand to meet our customer needs and expectations as we maintain responsible environmental solutions to the growing demands of electronic waste management.Every year we keep more than 6 million pounds of equipment out of landfills; contributing to a cleaner, healthier planet and a better tomorrow.

Board Level Repair

Computers and electronics are built using components such as capacitors, resistors, transistors and diodes. When your equipment fails, it may be in perfect condition except for one of those components that became defective.

High-end plasma and LCD displays, video cards and motherboards are the type of equipment we target for board level repair; in such cases repairing the part is a lot more affordable than replacement.CER utilizes state-of-the-art test equipment and certified technicians. All repairs are backed by our 30-day guarantee on parts and labor.

Company Policies

Environmental Policy

CER management and staff are committed to continual improvement of our Environmental Management System (EMS) as a means to help advance the company's overall environmental performance. CER management and staff are committed to the prevention of pollution through implementing responsible material handling procedures, selecting qualified downstream vendors to handle materials leaving our facility, performing downstream due diligence on our entire downstream vendor network, and adhering to strict regulatory compliance and detailed record keeping practices. CER management is committed to the review of our environmental policy, environmental objectives, and goals on an annual basis. Our Environmental policy is routinely communicated to all employees and persons working on behalf of CER, and is made available to the public through our company website.

 Organizational Health and Safety Policy

CER is dedicated to preventing exposure to an environment containing materials, or work practices which may cause its employees, partners, neighbors, and visitors to be injured, suffer ill health, or unreasonable risk. CER pledges to comply with all local, state and federal laws dealing with its business endeavors. Consumer Services

While most recyclers focus on corporate customers, we understand the value of proper electronics recycling on the individual level as well. US has over 300 million people and 240 million TV sets. How many people do you know that don't have a cellular phone? Electronics are intertwined into every aspect of today's society and they become redundant and obsolete faster and faster each year. By recycling and reusing, we reduce the impact our commodity culture has on the planet.
