Huxted Waste Disposal

Huxted Waste Disposal acquired our recycling yard at 101 Slater Way in Strathmore on January 1, 2014. The recycling yard offers our “Take It or Leave It” services, which allows you to drop off your gently used and working items, allowing others the opportunity to take and utilize what they may need.

Rules for Recycling at “Take It or Leave It” in Strathmore
Don’t leave expired children’s items such as high chairs, car seats, toys or cribs.
Don’t dump unusable items in this area. Instead use the heavy item garbage (HIG) pickup, available 5 times a year.
Don’t dump items outside of the facility when we are closed. Please come back during open hours.

Unacceptable Items for the “Take It or Leave It” Service:

• All furniture
• Mattresses & box springs
• Carpet
• Cribs, car seats & playpens
• Broken dishes & glassware
• Broken toys
• Doors & windows
• Food items
• Clothing – bins available
• File cabinets, bed frames, exercise equipment, bicycles – any scrap metal
• Glass jars & bottles – accepted at Recycle Bin #10

You can recycle these items at our Strathmore yard:

• #2 plastics – with a #2 stamped on it
• Cardboard
• Egg cartons
• Tin cans
• Mixed paper
• Newspaper
• Batteries
• Used oil
• Tires
• Paint
• Old appliances
• Fridges using Freon® – a charge applies
• Fluorescent bulbs – a charge applies
• TVs & electronics – in separate bins
• Grass clippings
• Trees
• Pallets
