Earth Friendly Recycling is committed to protecting the private data of our valued clients and ensuring the efficient and ethical recycling of end of life electronics.

Earth Friendly Recycling is family-owned and operated in Vancouver, WA. Since opening in 2011, we’ve treated every client as part of our family. Recognizing the need for a convenient option for recycling end of life electronic items, we established Clark County’s first and to date only free electronics recycling pickup service. Offering this service allows homes and businesses the ability to carry on with their day to day activities without the need to transport items to a facility, or worse, throw them into the trash to be land filled.

Responsible Electronics Recycling 

Very few items that we receive are unable to be properly recycled. Though we strive to be 100% environmentally positive, efficient, and thorough, some items we regularly see unfortunately end up being discarded as waste. We continually try to reduce the items in this category by continually searching for viable downstream recycling avenues. The good news is that if it’s not on this list, we are recycling it! Until then, we ask that people please be aware when purchasing new items to be conscious of the following:

• Leather cases from cell phones
• Non-block, spongy foam type packing materials
• Rubber Mouse pads
• Film plastic

How We Protect Your Data

• From pickup or dropoff, your items are kept locked away from potential data thieves.
• Storage drives are removed from items by trained, background checked, video surveillanced staff.
• Reusable storage drives are sanitized according to the Department of Defense code 5220.22M. This is a
• seven pass sector by sector overwrite process, making it impossible for any information to be retrieved.
• Non-reusable storage drives are shredded and responsibly recycled according to R2 guidelines.

• In 2009, the Veterans Affairs Department agreed to pay a $20 million settlement due to the compromised identification and medical data of 26.5 million veterans and active duty military on a single laptop.
• In 2007, Gap Inc. had the records of 800,000 applicants stolen, including social security numbers, potentially exposed from the loss of two unsecured laptops.
