Our Story

In 2015 two young individuals set-up a Torchmate 3 system at a high school in Olney, IL. Many hours were spent learning machine software and troubleshooting issues. Because CNC principles are shared across different brands soon many other schools in the area were seeking out assistance with their machines. After working with these machines for 2 years these individuals took the next step.

In early 2017, Southern Illinois Metalworx was formed with a primary focus on making signs for home and business, as well as industrial parts using a CNC plasma cutting table. A few months after opening, the business expanded to include steel fabrication, vinyl decals, and transparent vinyl business signs. In the spring of 2018 we became a service partner with Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems (LECS) based out of Reno, NV. We currently work with LECS to provide an in-field troubleshooting and repair service to the many owners of Torchmate brand cutting tables. In addition to servicing the machines, we provide trainings for commercial and educational institutions. We are continuing to expand our capabilities with our most recent addition of powder coating and mobile sandblasting.
