Based in Suburban Chicago, Locknut Technology is a 2nd generation family-owned and operated manufacturer of prevailing-torque locknuts. Founded in 1994 to serve the distributor market, Locknut Technology has grown into a diverse manufacturer supplying to a wide range of distributors and OEMs with high-quality, all-metal, prevailing-torque locknuts for industrial applications.  Founder Roy Motz has used his abilities as a tool maker and designer to custom build state-of-the-art machinery with zero defect capability. This unique equipment is the cornerstone of our success---allowing Locknut Technology to evolve to meet ever-changing customer specifications.  Today, we stock a large inventory of locknuts in our modern, 30,000 square-foot facility. All of our locknuts incorporate a precision thread deflection process using proprietary manufacturing equipment.

Locknut Technology is also addressing the challenges of offshore competition by embracing modern manufacturing principles such as lean manufacturing techniques, continuous process improvement and quality circle teams. The production facility operates two shifts per day and allows Locknut to turn around rush orders in as little as 24 hours at very competitive prices.Locknut Technology is an ISO 9001: 2008 certified firm offering full quality control to IFI spec 100/107. This guarantees that Locknut Technology adheres to world-class quality standards. Every lot is fully traceable with our registered product trademark.  Locknut Technology also has an internal quality assurance lab on-site with the latest in specialized testing equipment. Our in-house lab can perform any certification requirements, including Level III PPAPS. This includes ring and thread gauges, torque testing equipment, proof-load testers, hardness testers and digital measuring equipment. This internal lab allows Locknut Technology to reduce the time and expense of using an outside lab and assures compliance.
