1958 Robert 'Bob' Ramsey, Sr. opens B & J Manufacturing Jewelers in New Orleans, manufacturing fine custom jewelry for other jewelers to sell under their own name.1972 Bob opens Ramsey’s Jewelers in Metairie on the corner of W. Esplanade and Transcontinental.1975 Robert Jr. joins the firm as an apprentice jeweler. 1980 Day-to-day operations are turned over to Robert, Jr. and he is soon joined by his sister, Lori. 1993 Robert and Lori move Ramsey's to its current location on Veterans.1996 Robert, Sr. passes away, proud that his little jewelry repair shop has become an important jewelry store. 1998 Robert and Lori focus entirely on diamonds. The new sign says Ramsey's Diamond Jewelers. Worldwide diamond sourcing begins. 1999 Robert’s son Bobby joins Ramsey’s after apprenticing with important jewelry stores in Missouri and Indiana. 2012 Ramsey's is visited by a reporter from In-Store Magazine, the principal trade publication of the jewelry industry. The reporter, Trace Shelton, wrote that he had been hearing amazing stories about Ramsey's since 1998 and finally decided he should to take a road trip to see the famous store for himself.
