Earthbound Recycling

25 Truitt Drive, Eureka, Missouri, United States | Scrap Yards

Earthbound Recycling is located in Eureka, Mo and serves the West St. Louis County area, with people routinely coming from Ballwin, Ellisville and Creve Coeur. The St. Louis area has various companies that accept metals, appliances, electronics, clothing and paper & cardboard, but Earthbound Recycling is the only one that accepts all of these things at one location.Earthbound Recycling is one of the few recycling centers in the region to accept unwanted paint six days a week. There is a small charge per pound for interior & exterior paint. The center gives away all partial cans of usable paint to anyone that needs it.

Earthbound Recycling purchases metals to be recycled. 'We buy from 1 to 2,000 pounds of almost any metal a magnet won't stick to.' Recycled metals start getting dismantled in St. Louis, then go to other states. Click for photos of types of metal Earthbound Recycling is purchasing.

The center is a free drop-off for computer towers, flat-panel TVs, large metal items, computers, water heaters, cast iron or galvanized pipe, lawn mowers, old cell phones, rechargeable batteries, corrugated cardboard, vinyl siding and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe.

There is a small fee for old refrigerators, microwave ovens, old computer CRT monitors and TVs (no charge for flat panel monitors or TVs).

Bob Moore, the owner, started Earthbound Recycling after remodeling homes and seeing the enormous amount of construction waste. 'I thought, somebody needs to help out,' Moore said. 'Then I decided that could be me.'

Do your part to help the planet! The center is closed only on Sundays; however paper & cardboard drop-off is available 24 hours a day, year-round.

Electronics Disposal

'Since there is a fee associated with electronics disposal, you may be tempted to just put these items into the trash. But consider this! It is estimated that Americans throw out enough electronics each year to fill an area one acre in size, to a depth of 3.5 miles! These items contain heavy metals which can leach out when disposed of in landfills, and may eventually contaminate our groundwater supply. Earthbound Recycling accepts all electronic devices for safe disposal.'
