Some of the tractors included an original CAT “Holt 30″ – Oliver Cletrac – McCormick Deering – International and Allis Chalmers.Peter’s eldest son Gary soon took a keen interest helping his father and in the early 1970′s started Salmon Earthmoving Services.During the 1970′s under Gary Salmon, the company expanded to become a major service provider to the Mining and Construction Industries along the east coast of Australia; and a recognized , respected identity in the field of equipment rental.The early 1990′s saw Gary’s eldest son Nick commence his apprenticeship with the Caterpillar dealer Hastings Deering as a diesel fitter and soon after that, Nick was involved with the family owned and operated business.During expansion into the Mining and construction areas of New Caledonia , another of Gary’s sons, Chris Salmon became involved in our Management team.The company has undertaken many projects over many decades.
