Vinidex has the pipe systems and solutions for your applications.Vinidex has been Australia’s leading manufacturer of PVC and Polyethylene piping systems for over 50 years.It all started in 1960, in a small factory in Auburn, Sydney with a handful of resourceful people. Beginning with second-hand equipment and offcuts from PVC raincoats, the first product manufactured by Vinidex was flexible PVC conduit. Rigid conduit followed. Vinidex’s first major conduit order was for the lighting in the Cahill Expressway tunnel. It’s still there and still working.With a successful tender to supply 1500 tonnes of piping to PMG, the Postmaster-General’s Department (PMG became Telecom and then Telstra), the company quickly outgrew their premises and moved to a larger site in Auburn where the addition of more extruders and an injection moulding machine for the production of fittings were installed. The company was then able to produce a complete system of pipes and fittings which could be used for pressure, soil, waste and vent, gas, electricity, telecommunications, storm water and irrigation applications. In 1964 a factory was built at Smithfield where the growth and development continued. It was during that year that Metal Manufactures Ltd of Port Kembla, NSW took a financial interest in Vinidex.Growth and development has always been a strong feature of the history of Vinidex which continues to the present day. From the early days as the pioneers of PVC pipe systems in Australia until now, Vinidex as always been at the forefront of innovation and product development in the piping industry. An active part of the advancement of plastics pipe systems in Australia, Vinidex revolutionised the manufacture of PVC-O pipe systems with the development of world-first continuous online extrusion technology making us world leaders in PVC pipe manufacturing.In 2014 Vinidex became part of the Aliaxis Group, a global leader in the manufacture of plastics pipes and fittings systems.
