Focus Recycling

With their own specialist recycling centre in West Sussex, Focus process and recycle materials, which would otherwise be sent to landfill. Focus believes that waste is not a burden but rather a resource, and with the commitment of the community, will lead the way in diverting 100% of waste from landfill. 

By working directly with the waste producers themselves on-site recycling teams ensure that the 3R policy is adhered to and managed effectively. Construction sub-contractors are inherently more focused on production as opposed to site-tidiness and recycling. Some of the things Focus do are;
- Dedicate specific ‘cutting areas’ on site to ensure that all waste is contained
- Provide dedicated ‘segregated waste vessels’ directly at the workface ensuring that waste does not hit the floor
- Encourage contractors to store and re-use ‘off-cuts’ as opposed to just throwing them away
- Educate contractors and their employees by holding ‘waste inductions’ and weekly ‘toolbox talks’, this ensures that they are always considering the environment wherever they are working
- Promoting segregation. 

The company is owned by James Copperwait who has been involved in the recycling trade for many years having previously worked for a large blue chip company.
