Fletchers Metals and Waste Recycling Ltd was founded in 1982 by Richard Fletcher, and has subsequently grown to be a major independent presence in the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire regions. The company adopted a philosophy that landfill was unsustainable and grew by realising that recycling, coupled with a great service, would be the critical factors for waste producers as time progressed.

Today the company is a significant local employer and has consolidated its presence by diversifying into specialist recycling activities such as vehicle de-pollution and wheelie bin collections. This growth is expected to continue, with a variety of additional recycling techniques being considered for its two major licensed operating centres in Sheffield and Chesterfield.
