Saddletoll Ltd

Saddletoll started trading as a Limited Company in 1975 under the ownership of Fred Grieve and his wife Pat. Fred was a remarkable man with a great vision for the business. The first couple of years saw Saddletoll mainly involved in Industrial Cleaning in the Bristol and South Wales area but it soon became clear, coupled with Fred’s entrepreneurial skills, that Saddletoll Limited was procuring contracts for the disposal of hazardous waste.

Some of these early contracts came from ICI (Avonmouth), Albright & Wilson (Avonmouth), Cuprinol (Frome) and Westinghouse Brakes & Signals (Chippenham). In 1980 Fred retired from the firm due to ill health and the business was then managed by his daughter Patricia and her husband Barry Midcalf. Through the 1980’s, 1990’s and into the Millennium years the family business continued to thrive and gaining many new accounts to its portfolio.
