Rooneys For Recycling

Established in 1904 by Margaret Rooney as a Rag & Bone merchant, recycling rags, woolens, glass jars and bottles as well as all forms of scrap metal.  Rooney's  is the oldest surviving recycling company in the area.

From the begining  using horse and carts up until the 1940s then lorry's were used, in 1960 Rooney's were the first recycling company to operate a skip/container hire service.

To the present day with its modern fleet of skip/roro wagons. Rooney's is a family run business operated by a grandson of the founder.
