The company was incorporated in June 1993 under the name of Martin Environmental Services Limited, in June 1994 the company was renamed MES Environmental Limited.

The company was set up with the mission of canvassing major UK operators. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of CNIM UK Limited who in turn are wholly owned by CNIM SA.

CNIM successfully won a contract in 1995 at Stoke On Trent to put together the funding, building the plant and operating it. A couple of years later two more contracts were signed of the same type in Dudley and Wolverhampton. MES Environmental Limited took over the operating part of the contract and has successfully operated and maintained the plants since.

MES Environmental Limited is a medium sized company with a locally focused management structure intent on improving its services to its customers with particular attention to operations, environment and health and safety, but at the same time can rely on its parents support for many large technical solutions. So providing the best of both worlds.
